After his studies and several years in other companies, Dr. Palm joined the family business as the 4th generation on 1st April 1982. With a total of 4 companies and 600 employees, a turnover of €86 million was generated at that time. Over the course of the last 40 years, the latest division, newsprint was added to the two existing business areas, corrugated case material and corrugated board packaging, which were also significantly expanded. In 2022, Palm expects sales of €2.2 billion with 33 plants and has over 4,000 employees. Contrary to the far lower expectations of the celebrant at the beginning of his working life, sales have thus increased 25-fold in 40 years.
The dynamic developments of Palm are based on the high commitment of all employees, their motivation as well as their diligence, for which Dr. Palm expressed his sincere thanks. Great appreciation was expressed to the ever constructive cooperation with the works councils that strengthen the family business immensely. The excellent management team was also highly praised. Decades of loyalty to the company, tireless commitment and the passion with which the company is managed and developed by the management team were particularly emphasised. Dr. Palm expressed his deep gratitude for the outstanding achievements of all.
