Palm Recycling Limited also based at PM7 is responsible for suppling Palm Paper Limited with the required waste paper. Carrying out collections and recycling services for the public sector and for commercial clients.

Production, sales, logistics and finance functions for both Palm Paper Limited and Palm Recycling Limited is all based in King’s Lynn.

Job overview

Co-ordinate the Sales for UK newsprint, Kraft Linerboard (KLB) and Corrugated Case Material (CCM) customers. Planning the production for Kings Lynn PM7 and CCM imports to UK, providing on call support and back up for the Production Planning Manager.

Contract Type:               Permanent (Full-Time)

Hours:                               40 hours per week (Monday – Thursday 0800 hrs to 1700 hrs with half an hour unpaid lunch break and Friday 0800 hrs to 1400 hrs)

Salary:                              £TBC Per Annum (depending on experience)

Reporting to:                  Production Planning Manager

Start date:                       As soon as possible

Job description and main responsibilities:

  • Manage the UK based newsprint, KLB and CCM customer accounts
  • Process newsprint, KLB and CCM orders on the Tieto system
  • Coordination of the production trim patterns for customer orders on the PM7 newsprint machine
  • Ensure that optimum planning efficiency is achieved and customer delivery expectations are maintained
  • Co-ordinate PM7 optimisation based upon the mix of customer orders received and machine requirements, incorporating lead time and capacity management controls
  • Manage stockholding levels for Lynn PM7 customers, across a range of multiple product grades
  • Manage stockholding levels in external warehouses for CCM and KLB
  • Manage CCM customer stocks and co-ordinate the shipping requirements to maintain adequate stock coverage
  • Ensure that customer orders are made within specified time criteria, meet with contractual commitments and manage customer demands
  • Communicate with UK newsprint, KLB and CCM customers directly via email and telephone
  • Manage customer complaints regarding deliveries, manufacturing, stock holding levels and invoicing.  Direct the complaints to the appropriate persons for prompt resolution
  • Generate credit/debit notes and rebates through the Tieto system
  • Work in conjunction with other departments and colleagues in Germany
  • To comply with all UK & European H&S legislation
  • To comply with all company policies and procedures

Secondary responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the Production Planning manager during peak times, on call and during absences
  • Sales cover for Newsprint, CCM & KLB during peak times and absences
  • Spreadsheet maintenance on a weekly basis
  • Customer stock lists
  • Problem solving

Essential knowledge, skills and experiences required:

  • Sales/customer service experience
  • Office/admin experience
  • A minimum of English and Maths GCSE grade  9-4 / A*-C
  • AS & A Levels or equivalent
  • Advanced Microsoft Office experience
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Well-organised with excellent time-keeping
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem-Solving skills
  • The ability to work to deadlines and remain calm
  • A good team player who is able to work on own initiative

Desirable knowledge, skills and experiences:

  • Experience using automated ordering systems
  • Experience in stock and order control
