PALM recognised as a finalist in two categories at the 18th German Sustainability Award

At the 18th German Sustainability Award (DNP), Papierfabrik Palm was recognised as a finalist in two major categories: DNP 2026 Companies and DNP 2026 Products. The award ceremony took place in Düsseldorf in December 2025.

The nomination in the Companies category honours PALM as one of the most important pioneers of sustainable transformation in the “Paper, Board and Cardboard” sector. The DNP expert jury selected the finalists through a multi-stage evaluation process, assessing companies based on their transformation performance, ingenuity, communication and the scalability of their sustainability strategies. By introducing ultra-lightweight packaging papers with very high strength properties, PALM is able to replace papers containing virgin fibres and thus enables its customers to produce corrugated packaging that, in certain applications, can even replace plastic packaging. In terms of energy supply, PALM relies on highly efficient combined heat and power plants, residual materials from paper production and, in the long term, the use of green hydrogen.

At the same time, PALM is also among the finalists in the DNP 2026 Products category: with Palm Kraft and Palm Diamond, two innovative paper grades from PALM were honoured in the transformation field of resources as sustainable alternatives to virgin-fibre-based papers. Both papers are produced from 100% recovered paper and stand for a consistent circular economy and responsible use of resources.
